Oracles are Charisma-based spontaneous spellcasters that share a spell list (and several other aspects) with the Cleric. Because their abilities are so similar, the Oracle can fill any role that the Cleric can, and because they are Charisma-based, the Oracle makes for a much better Face than a Cleric.
